Governor Ortom stated this on Thursday at the Government House Makurdi when he received the Chairman and Commissioners as well as other members of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BESIEC).

Receiving the management of the State independent electoral commission, Governor Samuel Ortom pledged to partner with the local councils to make funds available to enable the State electoral umpire conduct elections as soon as possible.

In his remarks, commission chairman, Tersoo Loko highlighted a couple of challenges that require prompt attention.

The Benue State Independent National Electoral Commission Management was inaugurated on January 28 and says it is ready to conduct the local council polls following the expiration of the tenure of duly elected chairmen on the third of June.
