Respect or adherence to the rule of law especially under the current dispensation again came under the radar at a public lecture on Wednesday in honour of the late attorney general and commissioner for justice, Emmanuel Aguma, senior advocate of Nigeria.

Guest lecturer at the event in Port-Harcourt, and former director general of the Nigerian institute of advanced legal studies, Lagos, Professor Epiphany Azinge said the contempt for the rule of law is even more prevalent under democratic dispensations than under the military governments.
Azinge said since the return of democracy in 1999, over 200 hundred cases of disobedience to court orders have been recorded.
