Preparatory to the 2019 Women’s World Cup billed for France, nine-time African champions the Super Falcons of Nigeria were on duty on Monday in Spain where they took on the Canadian women team in an international friendly game.

Super Falcons of Nigeria

The African champions started off brightly opening scores midway into the first half of the game and led through the first half.

However, the tide changed in favour of the North Americans in the second half when they scored two quick goals in three minutes between the 50th and the 53rd minutes of the game.

They held on till the final whistle to bring scores to two goals to one in favour of Canada.

The Falcons have played two friendly games in the last couple of days, winning one and losing to Canada on Monday.

The Falcons next preparatory game will come up later this month when they will be part of the West Africa women tourney taking place in Ivory Coast.
