FG Assures Libyan Returnees

The Minster of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama says Nigeria is doing every thing humanly possible to repatriate all Nigerians citizens still trapped in Libya.
The minster gave the assurance on Monday in Abuja while briefing journalists on the outcome of the visit by a Nigerian delegation to the north African country.
In the first week of December 2017, the Nigerian government sent a fact finding delegation to Libya. The delegation, led by the minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama, was to asses the situation in the north African country with respect to the reported inhuman treatment meted out to Nigerians and give feed-back to guide the federal government.
The minister noted that the Libyan authorities were very cooperative and supportive during the tour of detention camps across the north African country.
Many of these young Nigerians were not just trapped in Libya but some were used as sex slaves.
At the end of work on Monday, about a thousand Nigerian returnees would have touched down on Nigerian soil at the port Harcourt international airport.
For now, the Nigerian authorities say the fight to save Nigerians in diaspora from global inhuman treatment is a fight everyone must be involved in, particularly the Nigerian media.
