Buhari Urges Governors To Prioritise Security, Agriculture, Health And Education

comments

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked state governors to give priority attention to four critical areas of security, Agriculture, Health and Education in the next four years of the current dispensation.

President Muhammadu Buhari

The President spoke on Thursday at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja while inaugurating the National Economic Council chaired by vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

President Buhari emphasized the need for the state chief executives to enforce statutory provisions on free and compulsory education, noting that it is a crime for any parent to keep his child out of school.

He also urged the Governors to put in place the necessary infrastructure needed to improve the quality of education in their States.

In the wake of renewed security threats in parts of the country, President Buhari called for active citizens’ involvement in efforts to effectively secure the country.

NEC is a high-level decision-making forum which has a constitutional mandate to advise the President on economic matters as well as coordinate economic policies and programs of Government at all levels.
