Nigeria is currently in the tight grips of a cholera epidemic which is ravaging parts of the Country with the death toll already put at 8 in the Nation’s Capital, Abuja.

The death toll from the water borne disease Nationwide is already almost 500 with over thirty thousand incidents recorded.
As a water-borne disease, experts believe that the current rainy season may be a major contributor to what is happening across the federation.
Lets start from the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, where at least 83 other persons are receiving medical treatment.
This was the situation as at last week when ait visited some of the affected communities.
Ushafa an Abuja suburb is the most recent of the four communities to be hit by the water borne disease, cholera.
Ushafa is located within the neighbourhood of the lower Usman dam that supplies potable water to the capital city but here water is a challenge.
Sauka, Kubwa and Mpape are the other communities in Bwari area council that are affected with Mpape having the highest number of casualties
The fear is that Bwari town which is densely populated and is the Area Council Headquarters has also been affected by the cholera outbreak
It has been months of suspected cholera outbreak in the territory since June 2018.
The current outbreak is reported in communities across the three area councils of Bwari, Kwali and Kuje.
