520,000 PVCs Unclaimed In Abia

comments
by AIT / 1 month ago / Politics
With less than 28 days to the presidential and National Assembly elections in Nigeria, over 520, 000 Permanent Voters' Cards, PVCs, remain unclaimed by their owners in Abia State, South East of the country.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Joseph Iloh, told AIT in Umuahia, the state’s capital, that the situation is not a good one for people of the state.

Iloh appealed to political stakeholders in the state to mobilise their people, both in the urban and rural communities, to collect their PVCs ahead of the February deadline.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC boss in Abia State advised politicians to stop demarcating each other in the course of their electioneering campaigns, but to focus on issues.

Some voters, who were seen collecting their PVCs at the Umuahia North collection centre, expressed their readiness to perform their civic duties.
